South St. Paul Steers (1962-1966 USHL) t-shirt

The South St. Paul Steers were a history laden team in Minnesota with many players from Junior team later played for U.S. National and Olympic teams, and Minnesota North Stars including Herb Brooks & Bill Masterton.  The Steers played at then historic Wakota Arena, aptly named the Cow Palace when it first opened.  Future North Stars owner Walter Bush used the arena for the Steers franchise in the USHL, that was at the time a senior league with teams from Marquette, Green Bay, Waterloo and Rochester.  Walter Bush, Bob Carter, Metzen Todd and several other local business owners were minority stock holders of the initial Steers team.  The team, as history proved, eventually evolved into the 1967 US National team based at Wakota.  Ultimately the 1967 team became the 1968 Olympic team under Murray Williamson and Walter went on the buy the North Stars.  In 1967, while the Met Center was being completed, Wakota was used as a temporary practice facility for the Minnesota North Stars.  This retro green colored t-shirt in heathered texture and soft tri-blend 50% polyester, 37% cotton, and 13% rayon features the skating Steer (exactly like what was on game worn jerseys) in black and white - same colors as original Steers, for a distinctive yet comfortable vintage feel that you'll want to wear everyday.
