The Grand Rapids Indians were a dominant force in the mid 1970 to early 80's capturing State Titles in 1975, 1976, 1980 and again 37 years later as the renamed school Thunderhawk nickname in 2017.  The tradition of Rapids hockey has a deep rich culture within this range community, and continues today with the proud Indians Hockey sign hanging within the IRA Arena - to remind those of yesteryears traditions within Minnesota Hockey history.
